Nokia N8, The New Cameraphone King

Nokia, one of the market leaders in mobile phones, has recently made a huge step forward as it announced its latest flagship – the Nokia N8. Though delays have resulted for the Finnish company to push out their launching date, still a lot of Nokia avid fans are on the wait for this latest gadget from Nokia. Nevertheless, the big question is “Is the wait worth it?”

For an avid fan, of course the answer would be yes. But for any other guy or gal who wants to have a new gadget this coming holiday season, then looking the specifications in more detail is the best measure to find out if the wait is really worth it.

Nokia N8 Unlocked GSM Touchscreen Phone with GPS, Voice Navigation, and 12 MP Camera--U.S. Version with Warranty (Gray)

At first glance, you will see there is almost nothing that has changed aside from the design of the form factor. But looking deeper, Nokia has made a major overhaul on this device. Indeed that it’s offering the same old 3.5 inches of touch screen display. However, the new N8 is already using AMOLED which offers a new experience in viewing images and videos. What’s more? N8 has a scratch resistant glass display to ensure that the phone will be protected against any harm.

Again, the N8 offers the usual connectivity that can be found on other mobile phones like the GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi for 802.11 b/g./n standards, Bluetooth, speakerphone, 3.5 mm audio jack and a secondary video camera for video calling. But what makes this phone so amazing is that it also offers connectivity to compatible wide screen TV through HDMI. Thus, you can view videos recorded by the phone into a 720p resolution. There is also a USB on the go, which will enable you to transfer files from PC, latops or even other mobile phones.

If you think that Nokia has stopped already in offering enticing features, then you are wrong, as you will drool to have the N8 when you heard this one. Nokia is very generous to present 12MP in their camera. That’s 4000x3000 pixels complete with the Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and autofocus which can help you to take pictures on a sunny day or even at night, a true cameraphone king indeed. You can also record high definition videos that support 720p at 25 frames per second. If you have the talent or the passion for photography and directing your own videos, then this phone will help you to pursue your dreams.

As side offers, N8 supports many media files. Thus, you can play music and watch movies with it. There’s also an FM receiver and FM transmitter in the N8. Moreover there’s also a built in document viewer that even supports PDF. Lastly, which you will definitely love, N8 has a built-in GPS receiver with a free lifetime support for voice guided navigation whether you are traveling on foot or by car. This is definitely one of the sweetest things Nokia has ever offered.

However, we must admit that the is no perfect phone. You can’t have all in one phone. Just like the N8, it doesn’t come with the more advance OS from Android. There is no free office document editor and the battery is not the best in class. But considering what Nokia is giving away with the phone, it is definitely one of the latest gadgets that you must have.
